Do components and machines meet cybersecurity requirements? How can the new requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act be implemented? These were the most common questions from participants at the Bosch Rexroth Cybersecurity Day in Ulm on July 16, 2025.
The one-day event started with a live hacking show that demonstrated the dangers of cyberattacks to the participants. The attack on a fictitious company and the passwords of an employee were simulated with deceptive realism.
Following this, Michael Langfinger, Product Owner Cybersecurity of the Business Unit Automation at Bosch Rexroth, explained various legal regulations surrounding cybersecurity, with a focus on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
The requirements of the CRA pose significant challenges for companies. What this means specifically for machine builders was illustrated through a practical example from the packaging industry. Marvin Wenzel, Team Leader Development Control Software at ROVEMA, addressed the IT/OT challenges in the packaging industry in his presentation and demonstrated how secure automation can be achieved with ctrlX AUTOMATION.
The Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS was the focus of Bosch Rexroth's cybersecurity solutions. Cybersecurity was given high priority during its development. In another session, Bosch Rexroth highlighted the features of the operating system and showed which security apps from the ctrlX OS Ecosystem can be used additionally.
The ctrlX World partner TXOne complements the ctrlX OS Ecosystem with its cybersecurity solutions and impressively demonstrated how IT security concepts can be successfully implemented in the industry.
In the afternoon, participants also had the opportunity to experience the presented solutions live in the ModelFab. During the Experience Sessions, there was also the opportunity to directly test the security features of ctrlX OS.
